The Person Behind the Framework

Twenty Years of Learning What Actually Holds a Team Together

Mark Greaves didn’t set out to write a book on leadership. He set out to stop losing good people — and started paying attention to why his best teams worked and his worst ones didn’t.

Who Mark Is

Built on Competition. Grounded in Faith and Family.

Mark competed as a Division I All-American in men’s volleyball at Ohio State. Athletics is where his love of leadership started — the daily standard, the accountability of a locker room, the way a team either rises together or comes apart under pressure. Those lessons never really left.

His faith in Jesus Christ is the root of the whole foundation. It shapes how he leads, how he treats people, and what he believes work is ultimately for. His wife and two sons are what keep him grounded — the reminder that the scoreboard was never the point.

What drives him now is helping other people reach their full potential — sometimes through identity and strengths, sometimes through process, and sometimes through the functional lessons of two decades leading inside corporations and building companies of his own.

Functional Experience

Two decades of corporate and entrepreneurial leadership, applied to the problem in front of you.

The Path Here

Built in the Work, Not Borrowed From It.

Mark has spent more than two decades building and leading teams — as a President- and Executive-level leader inside larger organizations, and as the founder of multiple companies of his own. Somewhere along the way, he noticed a pattern: his best teams weren’t built by accident. They were built on purpose, and for a purpose, using the same handful of building blocks every time.

That observation became Firm Foundations — and it is the basis of everything Driven By Leaders offers today: coaching, workshops, and leadership training.

His best teams weren’t built by accident. They were built on purpose — using the same handful of building blocks every time.

How Mark Works

Three Things to Know Before You Call

01

Direct, Not Diplomatic

Mark will tell you what’s actually broken on your team, not what’s comfortable to hear. That’s the point.

02

Built on a Framework, Not a Feeling

Every conversation traces back to the seven pillars in Firm Foundations — not generic motivational talk.

03

In the Work, Not Above It

Mark has built and led teams himself, as an executive and a founder. This isn’t theory borrowed from someone else’s experience.
